Xiaomi Dead Pixel Diagnostic — Hardware Test Method
Xiaomi phones include a built-in hardware test mode:
- Go to Settings → About Phone.
- Tap Kernel Version exactly 5 times in quick succession.
- A Hardware tests menu appears.
- Tap Display and follow the on-screen prompts to cycle through colours.
Note: This works on MIUI and HyperOS. The exact menu location may vary slightly between MIUI 14 and HyperOS 2.
Xiaomi Pad 6 Dead Pixel
The Xiaomi Pad 6 uses an IPS LCD panel (not AMOLED) — dead pixels on LCD appear as black dots without any glow. Test on a white background first. The diagnostic method above works on the Xiaomi Pad 6 via Settings → About → Kernel Version tap method.
Xiaomi Dead Pixel Warranty
Xiaomi provides a 1-year limited warranty. Coverage varies by market — EU and UK models have stronger consumer protection than US models (which are often grey-market imports without official Xiaomi US support). For warranty claims, contact mi.com/support for your region.
Dead pixels from physical damage are excluded. Manufacturing defect dead pixels are typically assessed case by case.
